Leader warns against insulting Sunni figures
TEHRAN - Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Tuesday underscored the importance of unity across the Islamic world, calling on the Shiite Muslims to avoid making vituperative comments about the Sunni figures.
The Supreme Leader made the remarks as he received thousands of people from all walks of the society on the occasion of Eid al-Ghadeer.
“Inciting the feelings of Islamic sects in the name of Islam is in fact ‘the British Shia,’ which has resulted in the emergence of evil and hireling groups such as Daesh and al-Nura, linked to the U.S. and England’s spy services, which have committed atrocities and wrought havoc in the region,” the Leader of the Islamic Revolution noted.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Khamenei once again brought to the fore the issue of resistance economy, saying, “The enemy seeks deterioration of the people’s economic conditions and finally, creation of dissatisfaction with Islam and the Islamic establishment.”
Considering the enemy’s objective, the decision makers as well as the people have to leave the enemy empty-handed through planning, the Leader underscored.
“Under such circumstances, it is the duty of the government, parliament, officials of other sectors, as well as the people to plan and foil the enemy’s objective.”
Hailing the country’s youths to revive Islam and fulfill their religious obligations, the Leader remarked, “By God’s grace, the youths will bring every enemy, including the United States and the Zionist regime (Israel), to their knees.”
The youths have been a source of optimism toward the future, the Supreme Leader highlighted, saying, “The reason I repeatedly express optimism toward the future in my speeches is the existence of such good realities who can push the country ahead.”
